Hello all! today I have a new update to Leash Kid!
Fairly large update compared to the initial launch of the alpha. Including new areas to explore, high score is saved, a all new menu system, and controller support during game play.
PATCH NOTES:
Added Features
- Voice lines for both Mom and Leash Kid ( aka chuck)
- Pause menu, including restart level.
- High score is saved and allows you to try and beat your high score.
- Bakery area is added as well as new ambient sounds to go along with it.
- Mom has more pathing options and a longer route through the store.
- Mom's movement has been smoothed out. (takes less 90 degree fast turns)
- More varying items to be thrown or destroyed.
- Most Shelving has been change and given a fresh look.
- Employees and Customers have been added, crashing into them causes ragdoll as well as a score increase.
- More physics props have been added.
- Controller Support but sadly only during gameplay, the menus currently only work with keyboard/mouse.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed many issues with being able to clip put of bounds or getting stuck in a location where the leash cant tug you back.
- Added new invisible walls.
- Fixed an issue where items were breaking to easily.
- Fixed an issue where the multiplier levels were triggering to early.
- Fixed an issue with physics objects bounciness not being consistent. Items should be bouncier than before and allow for more dynamic gameplay as well as a higher chance to super bounce up to the top of shelves.
- Fixed some missing textures and materials.
Overall this past week has been a long one trying to get this version ready for itch. I look forward to hearing more feedback and to see players high scores as well as the crazy antics you can get leash kid and mom up too.
The future path for leash kid is to fix any bugs or issue that arise from these early alpha launches. I Plan to make new levels for leash kid to cause destruction within with a eventual launch on Steam and or Epic. I am unsure if any more future updates will be pushed here on itch, but we will see.
